Final: Big Piney Punchers 21 - Mt. View Buffalos 7

Big Piney advances to the second round playoffs with a 21-7 win over Mt. View. The Punchers scored on their first possession after a drive from their own 35 yard line. With 6:12 left in the 1st quarter, Levi Greenwood ran in for the touchdown then kicked the extra point.

Mt. View started from the 20 but fumbled, and Seth Linn recovered. On the next play, Brett Moffat caught a pass and took it in to score. At the end of the 1st, Big Piney led 14-0.

On the next possession, Mt. View moved the ball to Piney's 22 before losing it on downs. The Punchers quickly went to Mt. View's 8 yard line then Mt. View intercepted a pass. Parker Greenwood then intercepted a Buffalo pass. Mt. View took over on downs but had to punt. The half ended without another score.

During the 3rd quarter both teams had to punt. The Punchers then took over on downs and Seth Linn ran 64 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was good and Piney led 21-0. Mt. View scored in the 4th quarter after of drive of 5 plays starting from the 21 yard line. They attempted an on-sides kick and were successful but Piney held them again and took over on downs. On their next possession, Brett Moffat intercepted a pass and the game was over.

The Punchers will play at Glenrock next weekend.

It was a cold, cloudy day, but the Big Piney cheerleaders kept the crowd warmed up.

The Mt. View offense ran the ball well to begin the 3rd quarter, but the Puncher defense stiffend to keep them scoreless.

Seth Linn (30) broke loose for a 64-yard touchdown with 16 seconds left in the 3rd quarter to put the Punchers up 21-0.

In the 4th quarter, a Buffalo ball carrier was stripped of the ball, but fell on it for the recovery.

The Buffalos mounted a comeback in the 4th quarter starting with this 55-yard run by Cory Gilbertson (3), but the hustling Andrew Priddas (32) was able to run him down at the 20-yard line.

Jonny Maxfield (30) scored the Buffalo's only touchdown with a two-yard run in the 4th quarter.

The Buffalos recovered an on-side kick after scoring their touchdown to get the ball back with 6:39 left in the game and trailing 21-7.

The Buffalos completed a 25-yard pass to the Big Piney 25 yard line on the drive after recovering the on-side kick.

After stopping the Buffalos on 4th down at the 20-yard line, Levi Greenwood (12) gained a 1st down with this 11-yard run.

Parker Greenwood (21) continued to eat the clock with this tough three-yard run.

Seth Linn (30) followed Levi and Parker with a tough four-yard run of his own, but penalties stopped the Punchers from running out the clock and they had to punt.
