Big Piney High School Football
Final: Big Piney Punchers 32 - Pinedale Wranglers 0
September 15, 2006
Coach Joel Eskelsen Comments:
They call a football a pigskin, and Friday it was certainly a
greased pig that both teams were playing with as neither team could
hold on to the wet ball.
The Punchers were able to sustain some
drives due to some great runs by all three Puncher backs. By days
end, Greenwood, Linn and Moffat had combined for over 250 yds on
the ground despite the poor field conditions. The extremely deep
wet grass slowed us but didn’t stop the rushing attack. Hats
off to the offensive line of Trevor Wilson, Brady Parks, Chas Raza,
Greg Eiden, Josh Eiden, and Zak Redden for opening the gaps. Special
accolades to Raza for his deep snaps that were near flawless for
the game.
The stingy Puncher defense played well and hit hard the whole
day. Parks had an excellent game at his tackle position. The weather
and field helped neutralize
Pinedale’s passing game and the Punchers picked off 3 passes and at least
twice that in fumbles. Linebackers Seth Linn and Trevor Wilson also did well,
each registering 10 tackles.
